Greenfood continues its expansion journey and is now further elevating its competitiveness. Through a new agreement with Odlarlaget, Agtira’s high-quality cucumbers will soon be distributed across Greenfood’s extensive network of partners, including retail chains, individual stores, and restaurants.
The new agreement concerns the majority of the volumes from Agtira's new production facility in Haninge and ensures that the highly sought-after cucumbers are distributed between ICA Maxi Haninge and Greenfood's own distribution network. This arrangement ensures that the entire production at the facility is managed and distributed in an efficient and sustainable manner. The agreement aligns with Greenfood’s ambition to make sustainable and healthy food more accessible and strengthens the long-term offering.
– Our new joint agreement with Odlarlaget enhances our competitiveness in the capital region and enables future collaborations in other locations. Products produced sustainably align perfectly with what Greenfood Fresh Produce stands for and works towards, says Ted Stenshed, CEO of Greenfood Fresh Produce.
Agtira’s notable vertically farmed cucumbers offer many advantages. They are produced on small areas that do not take up valuable agricultural land, the production uses minimal water and is free from pesticides. No emissions are released into nature. Since production is situated close to consumers, transportation is also reduced.
– With this agreement with Odlarlaget, we are taking an important step in sustainable vegetable production and meeting new demands within this field. We are very excited about this collaboration, says Magnus Ohlqvist, Head of Business Development at Greenfood Fresh Produce.
