Picadeli is now welcoming yet another restaurant to the family. The new restaurant is located in Kista, one of Sweden’s most important hubs for IT and telecom. The area is home to many companies and large office environments, with thousands of people working here every day. The establishment makes healthy fast food accessible to more people and strengthens Kista’s food offering. At the same time, visitors can experience the next generation of salad bars, Arctic X.
For 16 years, salad pioneer Picadeli has been developing the Swedish healthy meal — from its well-known salad bars with their iconic green bowls to wraps and ready-made salads. Today, one salad is sold every minute, around the clock, all year round. And the expansion continues — with the first restaurant in Stockholm.
“The establishment will be the first Picadeli restaurant in the capital and marks a new step in our growth journey. We want to continue making healthy fast food accessible to more people, and this is an important step along the way,” says Daniel Billfeldt, Country Manager Sweden at Picadeli.
According to Picadeli’s survey, The Vegocracy Report 2025, more than half of Swedes lack access to healthy lunches near their workplace or school. With this opening, Picadeli fills a gap in an area where many people work and spend their days. The area includes offices for research and development, universities, and hotels, with a highly international audience. At Ericsson’s nearby offices alone, 9,000 people work.
The restaurant is equipped with Picadeli’s latest version of the salad bar, Arctic X, developed with advanced cooling technology and digital solutions that elevate both operations and the customer experience — from clear allergen and climate impact information to AI support in ordering to reduce waste.
With the new restaurant in Kista, Picadeli strengthens its presence in Sweden, where it already operates around ten restaurants on the West Coast and approximately 1,100 salad bars across the country. The company continues to drive the development of healthy fast food globally — both through its foodtech innovations and by creating more accessible places for tasty, nutritious meals. Picadeli started its journey in Sweden and has since expanded its healthy offering to several European countries and the United States.
John Wijkman, the franchise owner who will run the restaurant, has extensive experience operating restaurants in Stockholm and looks forward to offering Stockholm residents more healthy, sustainable, and affordable lunches.
“Picadeli as a brand is perfectly in tune with the times, which makes it exciting to be part of the journey and bring the restaurant concept to Stockholm. It feels good to support a brand that actively works to be sustainable — from reducing food waste to offering a range that is 70% vegan, and at an accessible price,” says Johan Wijkman.
The new restaurant, located at Blåfjällsgatan 2, opened on 3 November. In the 103-square-meter space, guests will find both take-away options and 20 seats for dining in.
