People are our most importance resource and thus we make every conceivable effort to achieve good working conditions throughout our entire value chain – from growers to our own operation – through education and set goals that are closely monitored.
In our meetings with co-workers, suppliers, industry colleagues and other interested parties, we follow our core values of responsibility and respect. Our focus on achieving good working conditions also means that we strive for equality and diversity, as well as safe working conditions, not just within our own operations, but throughout our entire supply chain. Our goal is always to establish collaborative, long-term relationships with suppliers who share our values and views on business ethics, working conditions, climate impact and other environmental issues.
Customers and consumers should feel secure that Greenfood products are produced under good and safe working conditions. We’re committed to safeguarding the conditions throughout our supply chain and work towards improving and amending any inadequacies.
A majority of the raw materials used in our production is sources locally, in Sweden, with some 60% coming from within the EU. However, our responsibility for the production of the raw material is the same, regardless of where in the world it is grown.
Together with our suppliers, we are working for sustainable development in all parts of our value chain. Greenfood aim for close cooperation and long-term relationships with suppliers who share our values and have a similar attitude to issues such as business ethics and working conditions, but also climate impact, biodiversity, and other environmental aspects.
The basis of our cooperation is our code of conduct, in line with Amfori BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative), which is an international initiative for companies that want to improve working conditions in the global supply chain. BSCI is based on internationally recognized conventions for human rights, working conditions, the environment and anti-corruption.
We work systematically to ensure that our code of conduct is followed. To promote good working conditions, we’ve implemented a process where we collect and analyse information, formulate requirements, and follow up on them, in cooperation with our suppliers. Thus, we carry out our own audits and, if necessary, our suppliers are audited through independent third-party audits.
In 2022, Greenfood had approximately 1,300 employees in Europe and the USA. Regardless of company or continent, our stated goal is to always offer safe and secure workplaces free from discrimination and harassment. Greenfood employees are our most important resource, and it’s of utmost importance that they enjoy their work and have the opportunity to develop in their roles. By offering work within an international group with good development opportunities within a vital business, we want to be an attractive employer.
Our code of conduct is based on the UN declaration of human rights and the OECD guidelines for multinational corporations. It guides our daily work and helps us run our business in a way that is honest and responsible for the individual, the business, and the environment. We strive for an open corporate culture with high ceilings where ethical, social, and environmental issues are discussed. By living by our code of conduct, we build long-term relationships.
To further promote good working conditions, we conduct yearly employee surveys. Our business area Picadeli has been awarded the Great Place to Work certification six years in a row thanks to a 100% response rate. We’re focused on internal improvement and promote programs and education. A leadership training program has been underway in the Group for the last four years. The purpose is to empower employees in their ability to lead others and grow within the organization.
Furthermore, we’ve invested extensively in safe and inspiring working environments, not the least in our new main facility, Greenhouse in Helsingborg.
